Tool Cool Not to Share: the "knit pod" by M. Worthington
I have never been someone that oohs and ahhh over kitchen gadgets. I'm usually a "fuck it we'll do it live" kind of gal. I've been known to open up cans the traditional way, with a knife. And I occasionally dabble in the art of opening an avocado without a multi-tool.
I know, reckless.
But when it comes to knitting I am the complete opposite. Though I still use yarn to hold live stitches, I fuck with gadgets all the time.
One of the most recent gadgets was this knitting pod that I bought from Starlight Knitting Society. It is made out of maple and black walnut. It was hand turned by a local artist "M. Worthington" and it is super cool.
I mean sure, you can use the needle stoppers, but this pod will help store your needles in a sturdy little case. You can drop it in your project bag and you won't have to worry about the stoppers falling off. Also the top screws on so it is very secure. The artist did a great job sanding the inside and the outside so there should not be a concern of snagging your project, though I recommend that you do check for yourself.
And though it looks heavy, it is actually pretty light.
Kudos to the woodworker for coming up with a cool concept. And major kudos for the choice of wood.
Now if we could have the inside stopper be made of cedar that would add an extra function to this bad boy (but of course it is not necessary).
I do have to mention that this is not an advertisement, I just like to buy stuff and tell ya'll about it.
